Watercolor Paper Editions, Giclee Printing
Minimum order is 2 prints. We mostly print on a Somerset cotton watercolor paper called Velvet, the highest quality, mold made in Inveresk, England. A pure cotton rag paper with that luxurious fine art paper feel. Most of all we choose this paper because the colors on this Rag paper are truely stunning!! Prints on watercolor paper are usually printed with a 1 to 3 inch boarder for the extra material to attach to (and go under) the matt . Your size on the price list is determined by the size of the image plus the boarder. The prices in the table below include a U.V. varnish Coating only and do not include mounting. Giclee prints on watercolor paper, in our opinion, should never be sold to the final customer without a protective U.V. varnish coating. This coating provides some physical protection against scuffs and in accelerated aging tests has been shown to extend the fade resistance of our pigmented inks to about 100 years. We offer uncoated "Watercolor Geclee Prints" to artists who do their own coating or who do further "embellishment painting" before coating. Please ask for quote without acrylic coating (it is about 8 % less without coating). After printing the paper needs to dry about 12 hours, then we apply 2 coats of water base acrylic varnish (with special Giclee ink compatible U.V. inhibitors). Choose from 2 finishes, luster or matte. The acrylic varnish requires about 24 hours of drying time. Set up fee includes a 2 proof prints on Somerset Velvet watercolor paper, additional proofs (with adjustments) are $15. Proof prints will arrive with notes about printer settings and other terms written on them and are for the approval process only, not for exhibition. The final proof becomes a BAT (bon a tirer) and is the property of Giclee4artists. When an ""Edition*" of 12 or more prints is ordered , a BAT proof print and an archival gold CD will be kept in a darkstorage archive (included in the price) and no setup fee will be required for subsequent editions from that image. After the BAT print is approved and a print run is ordered, The actual signed BAT must be in our posession for the printing process to begin.
